Thirty-four recipients will receive a total of almost $600,000 under the Heritage phase of Round Two of the Everyone’s Environment grant program to undertake projects which conserve and facilitate community access to Queensland’s heritage-listed properties and historic shipwrecks. One of the recipients, Blackbird International Limited, received a grant of $40,000 to document the Pearling Disaster in Cape Melville, where 54 luggers, 5 schooners and many other vessels were wrecked. Using a new 360 Heros video setup with 7 Go-Pro cameras, the project will film 360 degree underwater wreck videos and photos, and also land-based sites that are significant to the event.
