This Labour Day long weekend commemorate when our forebears won the eight hour workday, and a weekend where working people take pride in being union strong and continuing the fight for a better life for all hard-working Australians and our families. I also recognise this celebration is only made possible by other union members working at retail shops, bars, cafes and many other places such as hospitals and police stations and I am grateful. As a member of the Australian labour movement I am proud to remember those who before me campaign and struggled to ensure that all workers where given a Fair go.
