This Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful for the support of so many in Wake County - people I know and people I do not know - who have trusted me with an important responsibility. I am thankful for the efforts of hundreds of people, many of whom I did not know, who worked so very hard for me and my colleagues. Without them, we would not have been elected. I am thankful for three great friends I made over the last several months, and with whom I am looking forward to serving for four years. I am thankful for the three current members of the Board who I get to join. They have worked tirelessly despite long odds, and I am thankful that we get to join forces to make this a better county. I am thankful for understanding and patient colleagues at work. I am thankful for a joyous and service-minded church home at First Presbyterian Church; for healthy children and a warm and safe home to share with them; and I am thankful for my parents, who raised me and taught me what I needed to know. And I am thankful for the best partner in life that I could ever wish for. My life improved immediately the day she walked into it, and its been an adventure ever since. Whats next!?
