This afternoon at approximately 4:40 p.m., BCA had a fire in the waste basket in the lower level girls bathroom in the Fine Arts Facility. Appropriate fire alarms were activated and the evacuation took place in a calm and timely manner. NASJRB Base Security and Fire Department responded swiftly. The fire was extinguished by BCA Operations Director, and the only damage done was to the waste basket itself. The Fine Arts Center was ventilated by Base Fire Department, and it was decided in an abundance of caution that no students would be allowed back into the building this afternoon. The building will be fully operational for the school day tomorrow.
