This coming from a navy wife: I love seeing other navy wives in the morning dropping off their sailors. No judgement. Just messy hair, no makeup, pajamas, and sleepy hello/goodbyes. A complete stranger flashed me the knowingest smile of how lucky we are to get to take our U.S. Navy sailor to work today. And yes, we really are the lucky ones. Why? Because we got to see our sailor this morning and we know that we will see him/her this evening. Some women and men will never again get the sleepy drop offs in the morning, even on a holiday, because they wont be getting another holiday with their service man/woman. As we go about this holiday today and tomorrow, take a moment and thank God or whatever god/gods you believe in for your many blessings. Especially for your spouse who you feel doesnt understand you quite as well as you think he/she should and for the children who are on your last nerve about Santa and opening Christmas presents. Because not everyone who has kids is getting to celebrate with them today, either. Happy Holidays to those who say Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas to those who say Merry Christmas, but most importantly I pray my Gods blessings down upon you today and every day. Amen!
