This five minute video on who actually supports all of the coups in Africa and why is quite thought provoking. Once extrapolated to coups and conditions in various parts of the third world as well as conditions that exist in certain communities in the developed world, one cant help to see the outlines of a well thought out system. One the greatest mistakes we make in assessing things is to be parochial in our thinking and narrowing our view to only one aspect of the system rather than appreciating the bigger picture. Several things in this short clip were thought provoking, but the comments by one person regarding unseen hands encouraging self destruction is particularly resonant. Self destruction masks the unseen hand. It is also a more effective and a far less costly approach to achieve economic objectives while justifying the view that those people just cant manage themselves. All men are equal and the natural path of development of any society is to seek to develop and perpetuate itself. As that occurs, those people are far less likely to be exploited and theyll seek to use their natural resources to benefit themselves. Although thats not revolutionary in and of itself, that sort of development is a direct threat to the economic order. Chaos and disorder actually supports the economic order by arresting the development of the affected peoples. Wherever one finds chaos and disorder, one will find economic exploitation close by. The two are not linked just by chance.
