This from David Suwala: ~~~ CHCC DIGITAL DISCUSSION GROUP ~~~ The Digital Discussion Group will meet at 7:00 pm next Tuesday evening at the Seymour Center. The meeting will begin with the discussion in which you can ask questions about problems you may be having with your own hobby. Bring your questions and problems so that other members can comment and offer suggestions. Cal Wong will host this part of the meeting and will assure that we only spend a half hour on questions. We will start YouTube videos with corporate photographer David Tejada snapping head shots and environmental portraits. The video reveals an unexpected tool to monitor and present images to his clients. RealPlayer 4.22 min. Next is a “thatnikonguy” workshop that takes us into the crowded, bustling streets (Harajuku & Shibuya) of Tokyo for some extreme street photography. You will encounter wierdos; often shy people; skateboarders; crossdressers; and an incredible sidewalk artist. Be ready for some occasional dizzying videography from his inept camera man but be ready. RealPlayer 12.47 min. Just read the book “Red Rover”. We will get a capsule report of the Curiosity Mars Rover as it explores a Martian Stonehenge with the ChemCam Laser module. RealPlayer 2.21 min. Finally, we will get a short, sharp review of the Q, Pentax’s quirky spin on the mirrorless system camera concept. Briefly, low on tech and high on style. RealPlayer 1.50 min. Next is the always popular activity – seeing our own images and having others ooh and aah over them. Maybe you’ll even get some useful comments. Bring your latest images (no more than 1020 pixels wide in the longest dimension) on original media rather than USB. This includes Compact Flash, SD, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, CD etc. If you’d like to do a presentation about your latest camera, accessory, or application, please notify me in advance so that we can set aside sufficient time for it. It will take place just after the tutorials above. Dave Suwala
