This guest refused to give over his passport as is usual in Greece. What follows is how he managed to get a £400 upgrade and still had the balls to slam the hotel on TA. . . . declined. He then withdrew the keys and shouted that he was too busy and had things to do he walked away leaving us standing in the reception area. We waited for a while stunned by our experience after which we then decided to collect the keys ourself. We walked around in the dark looking for room 336 there was no clear signs to find this room. Eventually a Russian lady assisted us. After approximately 20 minutes the phone rang, I ignored it for a while then answered, the receptionist was shouting that we must return with the key and were not allowed to stay in the room. I disconnected as he was not listening to my request to speak to a manager. Few minutes after he was banging on the door and shouting madam you need to leave, you cannot stay again we ignored for a while but his shouting and banging was loud so I decided to open the door he entered repeated what he had said before and added that the prime minister has to hand his passport in the....he gave example of others then added who do we think we are and we need to get out. By this time it was approximately 0330. I told him I was tired and was not moving. He then took the key and electricity card and left the room. Lucky for us we had picked two cards up at reception so was able to sleep for a few hours. At 0700 the phone rang it was difficult to ignore it as whoever was persistent, I answered , the same night receptionist told me I had to get up now go for breakfast and get out of the room till the manager comes. I disconnected as again he refused to listen to me. About 10 minutes after he was knocking on the door which I ignored. The event was reported to the day receptionist, tour rep and hotel manager. The manager appeared slightly shocked by the report, we were sent a plate of fruits and a bottle of wine. And while looking around the complex we noted rooms with own pool and on enquiry to upgrade we were upgraded the following day for free.
