This is a post I suppose some of us saw coming and some of us were just to blind to see it would. A while back we were all arguing about the Fish Lake mine. A great many First Nations were so strong against Imperial mines opening a mine there. Well, as it goes forward to the last attempt to get this mine going, I hope those same people throw the hat in WITH Imperial Mines. Yeah I know, you want to tell me where to get off and feel free to do so. But if they do not get to open, you have a much much bigger worry. You see, Imperial Mines must adhere to our laws. But if they do not get this mine opened, they will sell the mineral rights, as they are legally permitted to do, to a Chinese firm. No big deal right? WRONG! With the new free trade act in place with China, they do not have to even ask Provincially and Federal has spoken clearly already. They do not have to follow the land reclamation act, the mining act or even hire Canadian workers. This new act is binding and there are no negotiations. Fish Lake will be opened, and that way, filled with workers from China, not Canadians. As this and other trade agreements already in the works, like The South American Free trade agreement, NFTA, The European Free Trade agreement and there are more, get ratified, it is all over. There are clauses in the European Free Trade Agreement that limit involvement in natural resource involvement by special interest groups. That means you. We all knew things would come and that they would cause great fights. But these fights have no good end for us, unless you start acting now. But your support where it will keep business in Canadian hands. If you have any thoughts that Harper would not dare, you have not read the Chinese agreement. If we do not keep it Canadian, we ALL loose.
