This is a stupid analysis of things in PAS. The reason why PAS finally accepts the sole nomination of Wan Azizah as Selangor MB is simply Azmins voluntary withdrawal from candidature. PKR had accepted PASs proposal with thanks but it was Azmin who wanted to honour his pledge to support the partys sole nomination of Wan Azizah and this was witnessed by both Mat Sabu and Lim Guan Eng. Azmin is not someone that would easily swallow something that was pushed down his throat let it be by Anwar. He would have objected vehemently if that was the case. What do you expect PAS to do under those circumstances? Kick a row and nominate another PKR ADUN as MB? Wouldnt that look silly as it would imply that PAS had not been sincere in accepting Wan Azizah as a candidate for MB? As for the much-talked about contest for power between the so-called Anwarists and the Islamists, if at all there is a contest for power in PAS, evidently it is between the pro PR moderate group of professionals (which the writer cynically and wrongly labelled as Anwarists) and the group of PAS leaders in favour of a break up from PR and some form of cooperation with Umno towards Malay/Muslim unity, generally called the Unity Government Group (UG). While the decision by the PAS CC to stay in PR, to accept PKRs nomination of Wan Azizah as MB, to name Azmin as a second candidate, and not to ask for the MB post may very well represent a victory by the Professionals over the UG, the UG in also deciding the same, might have gleefully thought that the decision would lead to a deadly fight for the Selangor MB post between the President and Deputy President of PKR that could further lead to a serious break-up of the party. It is strange that the UG had played along with the PAS CCs decision to also name Azmin for MB considering that Azmin is a person whom they hate because of his close association with Anwar, the man they totally despise. The anticipated deadly contest for MB between Wan Azizah and Azmin Ali and eventual break-up are not to be. Azmin has obviously read the game that was played by the UG and quickly responded with his unequivocal support for the partys sole nomination of Wan Azizah for the post. Back to the PAS nomination of Azmin as the second name for the Selangor MB post in place of the maverick Khalid Ibrahim, it is safe to assume that his would only be submitted for royal consent if and only when the Sultan has considered and rejected the first. Azmin has graciously left his fate in the hands of Allah SWT and the Sultans prerogative. The writers conjecture that all is not well in PAS is completely rubbish.
