This is a video reading of the following poem. Upon request xx A Girl on a Train A girl on a train- Long day, feels like borderline insane, Her body aches, strenuous physical pain, She looks out the window, as down falls the rain. She looks down at her watch, a boy catches her eye He turns away feeblishly, looks up to the sky- The girl, intrigued, looks out towards his seat, He looks up suddenly; the two their eyes meet. The boy puts on a smile; he winks at the girl, His smile as white as ten shimmering pearls, She smiles back, blushes on her face- She tries to calm down as her heart starts to race. As the train pushes on, they sit there and wait The girl thinks what to say, before it’s too late And the boy wonders too, if he should ask her on a date- But nothing they say- they just sit and they wait. The conductor announces that the girls stop is next, She picks up her phone as if to send him a text, Sudden remembrance, she knows not who he is, The train comes to a stop, a stop that’s not his. As she steps onto the platform, she lets out a sigh, She let her doubts overcome her, left her wondering why- The train starts back up, tears fill up her eyes, She watches it leave, and’s left wondering why.
