This is dedicated to my dog for his birthday. Please feel free to join this group or recommend it to friends who have appreciation for poetry, it would be brilliant to have more members and poets, I know talent is out there :) x I love my dog and he loves me As soon as I sit down he jumps on my knee There he curls up on my lap And takes a wee nap If I shift to ease him off He looks at me a little cross On chilly nights he keeps me cosy Snuggled on my lap being dozy Hes very clever but a bit bossy Hell eat anything hes not fussy He knows so many words and phrases He never ceases to amaze us While Im away from home Hes in my seat keeping it warm When I come home with some shopping He pokes his nose in each bag snooping I scratch his ears and rub his chin He loves cuddles and attention He loves his toys and is always playing He greets me toy in mouth his tail wagging He has lots of nicknames To him theyre just a game Youd really laugh to know them all But he looks at me whichever I call He knows when I feel sad or crap And rests his head on my lap I trim his coat but its not much fun He fidgets so and tries to run He has the most ticklish paws Its really tricky checking between his claws Hes a bit of a licker I like to think hes a bit of a kisser He loves his caravan With his own little garden The sea air zonks him right out He puts himself to bed and is out for the count When we go for a walk I let him choose Park or beach he follows his nose Id be really lost without him For after a hard day he keeps me sane Hes such a good friend he listens to my chatter And the best thing of all he loves me no matter
