We found out that she has ovarian cancer that has spread to ovaries, peritoneum lining and possibly the colon. We will hear Monday when the surgery date is going to be, but it is 2 to 2 1/2 weeks down the road. It will be a very serious surgery with lots of risks, the Doc said. He will remove everything involved with the cancer (called a "debulking procedure), and will be followed with chemotherapy. Surgery will be at the John Muir hospital in Walnut Creek, CA by a top gynecological oncologist in the Bay area. Surgery will be 4 hours long with 2 days in ICU and 7 to 14 days in the hospital.
