This is just rude, disrespectful and unfeeling to the people in Newtown CT. Why must people insist now a days comport themselves with such crass disregard for the feelings of others? I ask myself that question every day. As I go about my day at the grocery store or out running errands around town.. I know I sound like my parents and their parents when I say that the younger generation is bereft of common decency and manners for the most part but I would be remiss to leave out the folks of my own generation that I witness committing insensitive and rude behavior every day as well. I know no one is perfect and everyone has a bad day but the level of overall just mean spirited in this day and age is rampant. Yes, you have the right to bear arms, and with the legalization of the "stand your ground law". You also have the right to shoot people dead and ask questions or later or just claim you felt threatened because they were dark skinned and wore a hoody and looked like trouble to you but do you really have to go about like Wyatt Earp at the OK Corral just because it gives you a ego boost to know other people are intimidated by you wearing such a obvious phallic symbol on your hip, oops I mean gun? Do these people have such a low opinion of themselves and the world around them that they really need to flaunt a gun in a public place just to give themselves some sort of twisted self worth and self esteem? I know their remains good people and decent people in the world even now but every year the number seems to be growing fewer and they are getting harder and harder to find. Just because some thing may be lawful for me to do but by my doing it I cause another human being to come to harm or to be fearful I can instead exercise my privilege to not exercise that right..That does not make me any less of a man or weak but instead illustrates my strength f will and leadership and thus exhibits the qualities of maturity and common sense and decency. Qualities that all true humans of any worth should practice daily.
