This is written by the same jackass that tried to help his kid cheat his way on to the fire department. Being a city employee yeah I would like a raise. Especially since we have not had a real pay raise in years. They really wonder why we cannot keep or attract hardworking skilled employees. It is because a person can go down to a fast food restaurant or the local dollar store and start out making more money than the guy fixing the water line shooting in the air in the middle of December at 10 degree weather. I think the public would actually be surprised if they knew what we made per hour. Hell I know they would be because I have had that conversation with citizens.
