This kid is adorable! He cant have anything to drink until theyre sure all the anesthesia is gone, but no matter what the nurse asks him or what I say, he finds a way to bring the subject back to having some water; but hes amazingly polite about it:) Earlier, I said to him how much better the pain management is with this in comparison to when he was 8 and had the Nuss procedure. I told him this is such a better first night after surgery than that first night was after the Nuss. Quest said,Yeah, but that first night after the Nuss, I could drink whatever I wanted. :) I cannot adequately express how much I love and appreciate all of you!!!! Paula Trent Nichols, thank you for updating the info for me yesterday!!!!! I really wanted to let everyone know how he was doing, and I couldnt have done that without you. I was dreading yesterday. I thought Tim and I were going to go insane with worry during those 6+ hours of surgery, but we had the most awesome people in the world here with us who took our minds off of worrying. Thank you isnt adequate enough, but thank you so much for everything especially for making us laugh, Gayle Mcleroy, Nancy Ehlers Reeves, Maria McGuire, and Jana Lester. Facebook wont let me tag anyone else but also to David Yeakley, Kevin Reeves, Rick Smith, TerryLea and Ellis Buchanan, Tims sister Cappy and their folks. The day I was dreading turned out to be a blessing because of all of you out there who share your love, support and words of encouragement. The nurse with us tonight is the most excellent nurse!!! Shes absolutely perfect!!! Quest is her only patient bc hes in ICU, and thats just how itt done - the nurses have only two patients at the most, but tonight, this fantastic human being only has Quest. Well, she was telling me that earlier when I was sleeping, Quest said to her, Im sorry Im taking up so much of your time. This kid feels really bad that shes doing so much for him. Hes the sweetest, most unselfish kid. I know theres pain, his mouth and throat are making him miserable bc theyre so dry, but this kid is worried about how hard the nurse is working. He also has been so polite and has been using the best manners. I am just so proud to be his mom. Im so lucky!!!!! Love to all!!!!!
