This monster deal makes strategically, economically and financially no sense. It however does to the large number of richly paid intermediaries ranging from bankers, lawyers, M&A specialists, accounting firms, consulting firms, etc. + the huge ego of the promoters of the deal. With a rapidly shrinking PC market; China & Taiwan taking over the leftovers and Dell solely relying on PCs and servers; what was everybody thinking!!?? To them,it really does not matter. In 5 years, when Dell is half its present limping and losing billions; everybody will have forgotten who was behind the deal and why!! It will become just another deal gone bad and another write-off.
