This morning, after working a 16 hour shift in Colorado Springs, Co... I set out to find a motel room for myself and my team. With my Galaxy Mega in one hand and the steering wheel in the other, I searched for a spot to rest. I was following my navigator through mid morning traffic when I fell asleep and crossed the median and drive into the grass. I was about to cross into on coming traffic when my team leader and best friend grabbed the wheel and fought the full size truck and fully loaded trailor back across the concrete imbuntntment and back onto the roadway. He saved the lives and the lives of countless others. Sometimes I just dont realize how hard I push things. We are all worn out and miss our families. I didnt even react to the near-miss right away. I keep a letter from my daughter tucked tightly in the side pocket of my duffel. It wasnt until I was in my room and took out that letter that the gravity of what had just happened. Ive never cried so hard! I want to go gone! I sincerely apoloe to the memebers of my team who I push so hard. I think that I am trying to make up for so many years of being a playboy. I have so much to catch up on. It is hard to tear me away from work. Thisblittle company is going GREAT things but has been doing so at the expense of our happiness, family, health and ,most importantly, SAFETY. Bow your head with me, if you will, and ask God to get us home safely. Michigan seems farther away that ever today. When I get home, I am going to hold my daughter and cry for an hour!
