This morning on my way to work, I was listening to On Air with Ryan Seacrest. I learned he has a feature called Ryans Roses where people call in who think their partner may be cheating on them. Then Seacrests people will stealthily call them offering free flowers. If the person (presumably always the husband because what man would ever call into a radio show to admit he thinks his wife is cheating on him?) sends the flowers to someone other than his wife, the wife knows he is cheating and the jig is up. She comes on the line and cusses out her husband and ends the marriage. Then Ryan and his other douchebag lackies sit around and pass judgement on everyone. Are we that pathetic, that desperate, that lonely, that starved for attention that we want to call a morning show to play out the end of our marriage? I was visibly upset, livid, that I not only tuned in, but that this was a relatively normal segment on national syndicated media. Today, I am embarrassed to be an American.
