This next year will bring some pretty amazing things for me. I sit here with a glass of wine in hand (dont judge me because it is Monday night!) feeling happy for a good life -- not a life in which I make much money! but a good life, nonetheless -- reflecting on this: over the next year I am curating an exhibition on invisible disabilities, to be held at Mason Gallerys brand new space in April (new name, too!) featuring artists such as Amber Singleton Kathy Abernathy Meliopoulos Leah Owenby and myself from Atlanta and being sponsored by the VSA Arts of Georgia and Mason Murer Fine Art; Lynne Lomofsky from South Africa; J. Penney Burton Brooks Harris Stevens Michelle Maroni Urbanek Katherine Soucie from the U.S. and Linda Wallace from Canada, artists who face challenges every day that cannot be seen and that will heighten awareness of passing; I will be releasing my childrens book that has been a four year labor of love, new teaching opportunities at Binders Atlanta, and Snow Farm: The New England Craft program and in my new studio space; an amazing exhibition at Abernathy Arts Center next October in collaboration with Virginia Greaves based on photos I take when I go through car washes, that will manifest itself in abstract quilts (but think WAAAAY beyond that!) and curated by Lauren Bernazza (I didnt let her stay retired for long!!!!!!) I have a 3D printer, healthy kids and a grandson, and an absolutely brilliant, amazing and loving husband. The road has often been rocky, I started off with $42 in my pocket, and here I am, alive and feeling great at this moment. These moments happen to all of us, and they offset the crappy ones. So, I will drink my wine and enjoy this moment while it lasts. Cheers, everyone. To the good....fleeting...moments in life.
