This past week, I went to a couple of days of the FedEx/St. Jude Golf tournament. – don’t play live, but I do love to watch the game. Phil Mickelson of San Diego, one of the top rated golfers on Earth for years (currently in the top 10), played. No doubt, he was followed the most by those in attendance, and was the most recognizable golfer there. The CBS cameras probably kept up with his progress more than any of the others. He was the center of attention for the four days. He finished the classic in 2nd place. After watching the guy play for two days, there’s one obvious word that could be used to describe Mickelson: humble. Wow, - what a breath of fresh air in this day and age where quite a few megabucks/big name athletes come across as self centered and egotistical. This quality about the guy, he wasn’t TRYING to be that way. That’s just the person he is. PM - one example of a high profile athlete that’s a class act and a gentleman. Just sayin’. BB
