This poor kid from Monument has some pretty big problems. We believe this is the hawk from Saturday that Mike, Rhetta and Al tried to rescue but couldnt because of the gale-force winds; the bird literally caught a wind and blew away. Yesterday Sidney called from Monument, the same area as Donnas hawk, and this Rhetta was able to rescue the bird. We believe its the same hawk. This RTH has major head trauma and wing damage. Donna from Monument told me she was working in her upstairs office on that blustery Saturday and heard a SPLAT! against her window, looked over and saw this bird plastered to the window. She and her husband tried to help the bird but couldnt catch him and then started calling around for help. Donna informed me this hawk has been a resident on her property for years, and she and her husband have enjoyed watching him catching mice on their property. Shes sending pix, which Ill share when I get them. Keep your fingers crossed for this guy. Hes in pretty bad shape.
