This post is to pass along an IHRA rule to all of our racers regarding Data Recorders/Electronic Devices. Please refer to Pages 80 & 81 of the 2014 Rule Book for complete information. The essence of the rule states, Any device that assists in determining track location of any entry is prohibited. The rule further states, If a device of any kind is discovered that transmits data or track location on any entry, the competitor and the team will be immediately suspended from further competition indefinitely and lose all related points and subsequent prize rewards. Naturally, we would not want this to happen to any of our racers and so this is a gentle reminder on the rule so that everyone is aware of it. While the use of onboard electronic devices can be a fun tool to track your run, it could result in an issue for the racer if the data recorder/electronic device is turned left or right and mistakenly or purposefully captures the track location of your opponent while you are racing. That video isnt worth IHRA sanctions if a protest is lodged.
