This season is obviously hard when you are of a unique culture. The sentiments are wonderful, the limitations of said sentiments can be isolating. Im the first to point out shortcomings within connections and opportunities to love better because Im soooo sensitive. But that same sensitivity requires me to dive head first into joy when its present and respond to my people heart first. I share these pics because they are exactly what I speak of. Moments of connection, a lovely soul offering me a calming aroma therapy moment while I swirled around as the Spirit of Christmas at the amazing #NightFairBeforeChristmas, a gathering focused on truly supporting individuals who live and create around us. Listening to amazing artists like Danette Hollowell, Felix Ayodele and #BlackLash offering their amazing talents. And of course people like Kalina Ross and Phaedra High who never stop thinking about new ways to love us as a community! Things are so hard. Everyone is hurting, people you love and people you dont. Everything is scary and changing. The only thing that addresses ALL of the above is love. Its the only thing that will work. Traditonal, atypical, rugged or polished, sloppy or organized, with tinsel and bows or skeleton bones. Just love. You got it...go give it ♡
