This situation is all so very sad. My son was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in May 2014. Fundraising was started for him. Unfortunately the fundraisers have been split. For the record, Jrs father was never charged half of the medical bills. There is court order that he has to pay 50% of health care costs not covered by insurance. I am responsible for paying health care premiums for all three of my boys and there is also court order for me to pay child support. We have 50% custody of the boys but since September 2013 Jr has decided to live with me. Regardless of this I never pushed the issue of asking him to pay for the $5000 that is still owed since 2011 for other health care costs or have asked for child support. To this day I have not charged Jrs dad for anything. I have always been financially and emotionally responsible for my children. Never have depended on anyone to take care of my kids. Now that my son is going through this, there is enough support that there is no need to charge anyone for anything. My son has many family and friends that support him and I am grateful of them.
