This spring I did 3 hugelkultur beds ( no never ask me to pronounce that I can not) but they are my best growing garden beds. Last month I started reworking an area that is really icky soil, I have been doing a little on it each week since, today even more, there is actually 2 other layers under the photo shows, I have a large area I am going to do, and add much layers and heights, but if you have bad soil I really suggest this hugelkultur, this are will not be planted till next year, but it will be already, I am also going to build a small pergola here for a reading/sitting area out of tree trunks. But all that digging and heavy lifting will wait till cool weather returns...this also leads into the area we bent all those maple trees last spring to make the natural tunnel....which the girls use for a play area... Do not blame them alwsys cooler in there :)
