This stunning video gives you the feel of a science fiction movie: NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft is on its way to Pluto and today is crossing the distant planet Neptune’s orbit. Precisely 25 years ago, in 1989 Voyager 2 spacecraft was approaching Neptune on the same day. Quite a serendipity! Triton, the seventh largest moon in the solar system, is in a retrograde orbit around Neptune, i.e., its orbit is on the opposite direction of Neptunes rotation. Scientists think that Triton was a Kuiper Belt object (like Pluto) and was captured by the gravity field of Neptune.
