This was our first year doing the Xterra Wildhorse. I did the 10k, Scott the half. Great trail race. It was quite surprising to find so much challenging terrain in those old phosphate mines. The fact that I didnt trip and fall off a drop off into the creek on either side of the trail about 7 feet down was a pleasant surprise. I did lose my footing and slid down the embankment at the first creek. FYI Compression tights do retain water. Course was very well marked. Lots of water stops. Pancakes and other food afterwards with a DJ and music. Nice atmosphere. I definitely had a runners high crossing that finish line. It was hard work and I am so thankful to be able to run and be blessed by Gods beautiful creation. The fact that Kurt Franklin was blasting after I crossed the finish line was just an added bonus for me. I was also thankful that I packed a change of shoes and clothes because I hadnt anticipated the creek crossing which was over waist high. #liveloverun #toGodbetheglory #lifeisanadventure #trailrunning
