This was the last day that my grandmothers body saw daylight. She - TopicsExpress

This was the last day that my grandmothers body saw daylight. She was laid to rest next to my grandfather in Richards cemetery on 32 mile Rd. just east if Omo Rd. I had the honor of paying her last respects in the form of a eulogy. The eulogy itself was just a bunch of thoughts about her life from my perspective. Well I didnt want to bore anybody with a bunch of my own thoughts. So I skipped ahead to a poem I wrote for her. I received such positive feedback on it that I thought Id share it here with all my Facebook friends, here it is. The First and the Last I dont remember the first time that I looked upon your face. But the first time I do remember your face wore a smile. I dont remember the first moment we spent together. But the first moment that I do remember will always be worth while. I dont remember the first time that you spoke to me. But the first time I do remember you were charming and sweet. I dont remember the first time we played together. But the first time I do remember I wish we could repeat. Now weve laid you down to sleep that one last sleep. We gaze upon you one last time through tears that we do weep. Well soon carry you over one last threshold. You shall lead us on one last ride. A long black car to one last destination. To lower you one last time to grandpas side. Goodbye Gram, I love you.
