This was written 25 years ago. Clearly, its still relevant and valid today. And thats pathetic. Ive got friends that are cops. Ive got friends that are black. Sure, there are good cops and bad people of every color. Just like people use black on black crime as a diversion to diminish the priority of law enforcement abuse against minority (especially black and brown) communities, so should those good cops change the culture and mentality from within their own ranks that the badge is a responsibility to uphold the law and maintain peace, not a license to execute their own justice and create more mayhem. To be clear, mine is generally a sheltered, limited, liberal experience. Its also a bare minimum solution.
