This week we feature Alyssa McGuire, a graduate of the Therapeutic Recreation graduate certificate program: “I always knew I wanted to work in the health care field, which is why I did an undergraduate degree in biology. After graduation, I didn’t have the expertise or qualifications to achieve the career of my dreams. The Therapeutic Recreation program at Georgian College was exactly what I needed to gain the specific techniques required in my field. The practical component allowed students the opportunity to perfect their learning in an applied setting and I was fortunate enough to carry out my internship in New Zealand.
