This young man was celeberated yesterday to the glory of God at St. Johns Ang. Church, New Owerri. He graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN). There and then, I began to count what I share in common with him. We are from the same Town. So, hes my kinsman. His late father was my personal friend and political colleague. We ran for election at the same time. We live in the same street in the estate. His house is just a few houses from mine. Hes a fellow lion like me. We are graduates of same university. We are Anglicans and we worship in the same church both here and in our village. I had defied the large congregation to shout to the whole church that he is my brother when the vicar, Obioma Okere, announced him for special prayer and the congregation cheered. I did that out of excitement. Dont blame me. That is the power and magnetic aura of success. This young man will not be among the many youths who suffered disgrace, injury and death looking for unavailable jobs in saturdays Immigration recruitment tragedy, here or elsewhere. A job awaits him automatically. His HOD at UNN has asked him to stay back to teach and educate the others. His name is Ikemdi Okoroiwu. Join me in congratulating this young man. In a dysfunctional society like ours, one needs to seriously raise his ante and rise above the ceiling of defeat in order to excel seamlessly. Well done nwa dee Stephen!
