Those of you who know me well, know I have too many pets. Always. Im a sucker for a shelter dog. I have 3. We adopted Bean from the rogers animal shelter about 4 years ago. We were told he was around 6 years old. He was skinny, filthy and smelled terrible. We bathed him, fed him, and had 13 rotten teeth pulled. We also found out he was closer to 13 years old than 6, profoundly deaf and eyes clouded with cataracts. His body was covered with warts which was pretty disgusting. He was quirky. He would fill his mouth with food, carry it across the house to eat, and threaten the life of anyone who dared to come close. Well, Bean is at least 17 now. He has dental disease, a chronic eye condition, loss of muscle control, and has been refusing to eat. Today is the day...I am thankful for the few years we got with this old man. We loved him and he loved us. I dont know what his life was like before us. But I do know he had a happy ending. So Im sitting here in these last few minutes loving on my old friend, saying goodbye. I so love this dog. RIP Bean💔💔
