Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. (Revelation 3:19) My son, do not make light of the Lords discipline, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those He loves, and He punishes everyone He accepts as a son. (Hebrews 12:5-6) If you responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you. (Proverbs 1:23) For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the mans spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. (1 Corinthians 2:11-12) And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with Gods will. (Romans 8:27) Okay, if we respond to the gospel with a sense of urgency we will repent and God will reveal His thoughts to us. The only way we can be familiar with His thoughts is if we have His Spirit. Now whenever we are in trouble God can hear our thoughts even when we dont utter a word because He understands the mind of His Spirit who He intercedes for us. This is the two way connection. We know Gods thoughts and feelings through His Spirit and God knows our thoughts through the mind of His Spirit within us. To make it clearer to You this is the original two way connection. E.T. the movie is a shadow of this Divine truth. E.T. knew everything that was going on with Elliot and Elliot knew exactly what was going on with E.T. despite the distance. At the end of the movie the alien pointed to his head, I will be right here. Now, there is a similarity because Spielberg admitted that this story line derived from the bible. So, if we dont have an intimate relationship with Jesus through His Spirit we do not know Him.
