Three years ago today two little munchkins were born, Tully and Ruby... Ruby is celebrating her birthday on earth while Tully is dancing with the angels whilst watching Ruby boss everyone around and grow into a glorious little munchkin. Their mother is my dear friend. Though I didnt know her so well at the time of the twins birth I was very drawn to her if ever we were int he same room. I loved her laugh, her down to earth way of being and her awesome sense of humour... When I heard word that Tully had passed something urged me to climb Mt barker Summit with my ukelele and a song just poured out, it didnt feel like I was the one writing it, it happened so quick and with no effort just a whole lot of tears... The song is called Blankets of Love and Tully and Rubys parents used the song to raise money to equip many hospitals in australia with cold cots- a little bed like device that keeps the baby cool should it pass away- it allows its parents to spend more time with their baby before that inevitable and most traumatic time when they must part. The video below is a montage of Tullys way too short yet loved filled life. I felt the need to share it on his birthday.
