Thursday was the fever admission to CHOP. He had last spiked at 6pm Thursday, so with no further spikes and no cultures growing in the bloodwork, Patrick was discharged Saturday and left the hospital at 3pm. He and Debbie strolled a couple blocks trying to work on his blood sugars which have been running high. Getting endocrine to understand how we manage his blood glucose levels and count carbs was a challenge. They are still running a bit high. He and I watched the third round of the PGA, immensely enjoying the strong competition. Its amazing to watch the pros get out of trouble on their off shots. We later played pool and settled down for the night. We awoke this morning to a 101.9 fever. Pack up, call the attending, and head to the ER. Patrick is now admitted again, having been out a mere 15 hours. He hit 103 while in the ER before he was given Tylenol. The ER nurses arent very good at access ports, so it was a challenge to get a blood return. Patrick was in a lot of discomfort, the flushes to get a flow were nauseating, he had a pounding headache from the fever. Nothing seemed to be going right. We had planned to grab a burger from Bobby Flays Burger Palace tonight after watching the closing round of the PGA, but that wont happen now. Just praying my guy feels better.
