Time to renew my summer vehicle air conditioning tip: When starting a hot vehicle, set your AC to normal....Do NOT set it to Max or Recirc....leave it run on normal for a few minutes, until the cabin temperature is at or below the outside temperature. Why? you ask...... Because in normal mode, your AC is drawing outside air to cool the vehicle....while Max mode closes a damper and recirculates the inside air instead. On a hot day the air IN your parked vehicle is typically HOTTER than the outside air.....So, use the less hot outside air to get you going for a few minutes, THEN switch it to Max or Recirc....for a more comfortable ride.
