Tips to help you flex in your city. 1. Handstands! Now I am by no means the messiah of handstands. In fact have always found them kind of tricky..hence..finding a wall and using it as your friend. It is there to support you- both physically and mentally. 2. Set your hands shoulder width apart and a hand print (roughly) away from the wall. Choose your dominant leg to kick up and trust that the wall is there to catch your fired up kick. Once the leg is up there, let your other one join in with the support fun from the wall. 3. The key to developing a strong handstand is to to keep pushing the hands away from the floor, so as not to disconnect from your upper back. Your arms should be long and strong like a trunk of an oak tree. As soon as the arms wilt or elbows massively bend the upper body begins to wilt and a disconnect happens. Additionally you MUST be wearing your imaginary armour of ab support. Avoid letting a banana come into your back-as in a super arched spine and draw in through front ribs as well as squeeze the abdomen in and back. 3. Now once you are zipped in through the inner line of legs, pushing the floor away with your hands and got your corset of core support, bring your eyeline just infront of your fingers- where the wall meets the ground. Working on ninja form is everything and do so from the foundation position. Then you can play around with variations like little push ups from handstand, twisting the hips out and creating different shapes with your legs etc.. Its fun getting creative once you got the basics on lock Have fun and #flex_inthe_city is happening tomorrow from 1:30-3 pm round Brick Lane area if you want to take your flexing out into London Town.
