Tisha found an article in Highlights about making Squawkers. Science can be loud. She asked us to get necessary supplies: Ballpoint pen Paper cup Three foot long piece embroider floss Water one inch-square piece of sponge Use the pen to punch two holes in the bottom of the cup. About a half inch apart. Push the ends of the floss through the holes. I threaded a needle to do this. Tie a knot in the floss. Make sure to leave a tail of thread longer than the knot (ours was about a foot longer. Lightly wet the sponge, use it to gently grip the floss, pull down gently. Hear it squawk. Now each of the girls have a squawker. Have fun. HUGS
