Tita Nitz Anita S. Schon is enjoying her stay in Mapatag, her second visit this year and a longer one - from September 9 to 28. She has learned to love Mapatag and the people and I am so happy that she finds home away from home. She is staying in our beach house with three companions - my niece Nene Nhene Freda Contreras Dacillo, and two of my scholars Kimberly Justiniano and Johnjohn Rezile John Onifa. She also gets to train the staff of Anitas Kitchen, in her effort to standardize the food preparations and all. Our Overseas Filipino Council International (OFCI) has adopted AK in Mapatag as a model which will be copied by the rest to be be established, pending funding, in different parts of the Philippines. It has been Tita Nitzs role, in the past many years now and in her past many travels in the Philippines, to promote Anitas Kitchen. She initially visited Mapatag in February 2012, together with OFCI Board Member Dr. Nelson Paguyo, and the plan to establish AK in Mapatag started there. It took two years though to finally realize the plan and last April 26, 2014, AK was launched with no less than the creator, Tita Nitz, cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
