To: English Department From: Nguyen Quoc Phap I was asked to find out two videos(in English) that are going to be shown in front of the whole school. Here are some of my suggestions. The shawshank redemption This movie is about a bank merchant Andy Defrene who is convicted of the murder of his wife and sentenced to life imprisonment at Shawshank prison. Over time, Andy befriended Red and found ways to live ease in a prison, leaving a message for all that while the body may be locked away in a cell, the spirit can never be truly imprisoned. Eventually, Andy escaped and a few years later Red was finally paroled after forty years of serving. Titanic The movie tells the love story of Jack and Rose. After winning a trip on the ship Titanic during a dockside card game, American Jack Dawson spoted the society girl Rose DeWitt Bukater. Rose felt helplessly trapped by her situation and made her way to the aft deck and thought of suicide until she was rescued by Jack. Cal was therefore obliged to invite Jack to dine at their first-class table where he suffered through the slights of his superiosity. In return, he spirited Rose off to third-class for an evening of dancing, giving her the time of her life. Soon afterwards, the ship hit an iceberg and Jack died to save Rose. In conclusion, I recommend that we show the film The shawshank redemption as it has a lot of meanings. It is thought to be one of the best films that has ever been made. Through the film, students can learn a lot about life values and people.
