To all our beloved friends, It is our pleasure to take this opportunity to announce: Effective from today, VT member Sean C.S. Hu will be appointed to be the Art Director of VT Artsalon. In VT, the position of Art Director is rotated by the core members; this policy allows VT to retain our diversity and provide a dynamic outlook for the future. Previous Art Directors in the past 7 years were artists Yao Jui-Chung, Wu Dar-Kuen and Su Hui-Yu. Sean Hu is the only full time professional curator within the eight core members and ex-chairman of the Association of the Visual Arts in Taiwan. His appointment as Art Director expresses members’ wish for further institutionalization and professionalization from experience gained over the past 7 years of operating VT, opening greater possibilities in cross-industry collaborations. We sincerely hope VT will continue on its current ideals and keep on providing our audiences with profound perspectives in art in the form of an artist-run space. Hu M.A. degree in Art Administration in Fashion Institute of Technology, CUNY in 1998. Hu is a curator, art critic, and the board member for the Association of the Visual Arts in Taiwan, Jut Foundation for Arts & Architecture, the CEO of Hu’s Art Company as well as a Lecturer.
