To all those who are blaming the workforce and union in the Grangemouth debacle : a quote from one of the workers from the plant taken from the BBC : Stuart in Stirling writes: To all those that are blaming the Union dont forget the workers are the union. We were basically given the choice to give up all our rights or the billionaire owner would shut us down. The paper we were told to sign by Monday night only had hard facts for us to abide by eg - no industrial action until 2016, all the company side was put in possibilities not definite so we would basically have signed a blank cheque for Mr Ratcliffe to do whatever he wanted. Yes we maybe made a mistake by calling the strike when we knew that was what the company wanted. Now we are waiting for him to decide whether he will accept us having to go back to work on his terms or be out of work with no redundancy. Oh and by the way I hear we are waiting until tomorrow to hear as he is on his multi million pound yacht in the Med and cant be reached. Absolute scandal .... won,t be long till we step back to the Victorian days when workers had no rights whatsoever !!!!!!
