To be absent from the body is to be with the Lord and I know Dom is standing with Him now in Heaven within a body that is free of age and full of joy. If we could part the veil of Heaven just to get a small glimpse we would see Dom smiling and laughing with all his family and friends that have gone before. Doms table is full in Heaven as it was here on earth surrounded by family and enjoying all that there is to offer. If we could part the veil of Heaven we would see Dom looking down with that wonderful smile and his arms outstretched saying ~ I love you THIS MUCH and you would know if your heart that all is right with the world. Today we, as a family, will say goodbye to one of the most amazing men I have known in my lifetime. Some moments will feel almost unbearable and yet I know we will stand together surrounded by the love that we have for one another and that Dom passed on to each one of us in his own way. Dom loved with all of his being and what greater legacy to leave to a family than that. The words I hear most when Dom is mentioned is ... I am far richer for having known him. I will say that I echo that statement along with being honored to call him Dad and for my children to call him Grampa. We will miss him greatly, but I know he is a part of all of us as the love he gave freely is now a part of who we are too.
