To my education friends. I appreciate your commitment and effort. I understand you are confronted on every side with mandates, rules, grading, and parents who do not help. I understand your desire for more funding. But you have been drawn into the bitter partisan conflict that demonizes the other side. When you portray candidates as sub-human children haters, and they win, there is little reason to give you a seat at the table. Opposition can be a part of the debate. Hate will not. And I am seeing more and more feedback that this state has the worst education system in the country. Let that soak in a minute. Do you really agree the class of 2014 is poorly educated and will struggle to be productive? Do you agree we have poor teachers that fail to educate? So reject the flamethrowers and the bitterness. Keep being a voice for a better education system. Know you will not always get everything. Keep a seat at the table. And please do not follow those who wish to wage war on those who might disagree. We need your voice, your skills, and your heart for kids. Anger and bitterness will only take these away.
