To organization of all the Mosques: Stop importing Imams. Today we have enough qualified people to be Imam from local communities who understand the youth. - Ahmad Saleem This is so true! Just within this year I know of 4 graduates from different Islamic universities around the world who came back home to Canada after their studies. Most of such people dont end up being Imams or working at mosques because the masjid boards prefer having Imams that can be thugged around. They get away with this because imported Imams have visa issues and are threatened by their visas being canceled if they disagree with the management! In a trip to Montreal, I spoke to an Imam who told me his story of how the previous mosque had threatened him of having his visa canceled should he refuse to give the Fatwa they wanted!!!
