To those who dont understand the act of suicide; those who say it - TopicsExpress

To those who dont understand the act of suicide; those who say it is a selfish act, or an act of weakness... you have no idea what you speak of. Even Prisoners of War have more hope ~ have some light at the end of the tunnel, in the hope of escape or of being rescued by their men, by their military. That hope helps them endure hardship, torture, starvation... even though it takes a terrible toll. But for those with severe depression or other mental maladies, the prison comes from within, and therefore can NEVER be escaped. The torture is unrelenting and never-ending. Even though it may subside for small periods time, or new medications are prescribed... it is NEVER actually escaped. It never actually goes away. Once you have experienced this point, you see it in a whole new way. You realize that suicide becomes the greatest act of Mercy. It is the greatest act of kindness and compassion that could ever be bestowed on the suffering soul. Because of our laws, it is not something that one could ask another to perform for them; it must be committed against oneself by oneself, in the greatest act of divine compassion. Therefore you should not feel sad for the departed soul... maybe sad for the life and friendship that you have lost and will miss, but if you truly loved that person you would understand how desperately they desired mercy from their suffering, and know they finally rest in long awaited peace.
