To those who say they cannot find a job because they are oppressed - TopicsExpress

To those who say they cannot find a job because they are oppressed in a city as racially integrated as St. Louis, Im sorry, but I have to call bullshit and here is why. There are easily-obtainable scholarships for minorities and low-income families. No matter how shitty the school is that they are attending, theres no reason why they cant finish and go to college instead of quitting and running the streets. I have seen lots of hard-working, honest African-Americans in all fields in the St. Louis area. They are proof that a better life is available if you work for it. The issue is the money comes easier and faster on the streets, plus they can still collect government assistance. Nothing pisses me off more than going into the DFS and getting turned down for food stamps and health insurance because my husband makes like $50 too much, but 10 people standing in line behind me with their hair and nails done, wearing real jewelry and name-brand clothes, typing away on their expensive smartphones and driving away in their brand new cars get approved because they make their money under the table. Meanwhile Im driving away in my shitty car, hungry, in desperate need of health care, wearing thrift-store clothes with no nail polish and my stringy hair in a pony tail, all because my husband happens to be a working, tax-paying citizen... Moral of the story? Stop making excuses and get a job! This is not a race issue. Its a lazy issue. To those many black people who work, please explain it to the few that dont!
