Today’s launch of the Brooke Street Pier is the culmination of the hard work of Federal Member for Franklin Julie Collins, myself and the Labor team supporting the private developers with Labor’s commitment of $5 million to the project in 2012, from the $50 million Macquarie Railyards redevelopment. The new pier will capture the economic, cultural and tourism potential of the Hobart Waterfront. When it comes to infrastructure in Tasmania the Abbott Government has no new ideas and no new investment. But is quite happy to cut ribbons of Labor funded projects.
