Today, 61 years ago in Las Cruses, Dona Anna County New Mexico, a union was witnessed by God and family of Odell Smith and Flora Viola Campbell. From this union in marriage, a family grew, first was daughter Flora Sims, then son James Odell Smith, then daughter Linda Hill, then daughter Betty Smith Gray and then me, Susan Blakeney. Over the years, the family has multiplied. There are now sons-in-law, Phil Sims, Billy W. Hill, Billy Gray and Mike Blakeney, and daughter-in-law, Judy Smith. There are grandchildren, Michael Sims, Jamye Sims Adams, Jennifer Smith Gable, Jacky Smith Spradley, Julie Smith Harris, Daniel Hill, Ashley Hill, Nathan Gray, Katy A. Gray, Jeffery Blakeney and Matthew Blakeney. There are great grandchildren as well, Tyler Sims, McKenzie Sims, John Sims, Taylor Adams, Lane Adams, Aubrey Adams, Walker Gable, Izzy Spradley, Aidan Hill and Eva Jewel Harris. As was promised, Odell and Viola loved each other until death separated them on 08 February 2000. A day we will never forget. We children know how Blessed we are to have these wonderful parents in our lives. We never had everything we wanted, be we always had what we needed and what we needed most was love and guidance. We got that three-fold. So join me today in saying Happy Anniversary to the best parents in the world! ! Odell and Viola Smith. Daddy, I know you are in heaven watching over this growing bunch of kids of yours and loving every minute of it. Mama, you are an angel here on earth, we know how proud you are of your little bunch as you call us. I thank you God everyday for my Blessings, beginning with my mama and my daddy. Happy Anniversary♥
